Alexander Wang // H&M

Interesting... H&M have announced its next designer collaboration.. The next collab will be with Alexander Wang. The announcement was made yesterday during an event at the Coachella Music Festival. H&M previously worked with Versace and now we have Alexander Wang. The apparel will drop on November 6th in stores worldwide and online and will feature both Mens and womenswear.

"I am honoured to be a part of H&M’s designer collaborations. The work with their team is an exciting, fun process. They are very open to push boundaries and to set a platform for creativity." - Alexander Wang

Versace X HM's collection went on sale Autumn 2011 (18th November to be precise) and within day's everyone in college was wearing Versace.. I wasn't sure I was too happy with it but at the same time I kinda understood the reasoning behind it. H&M are trying to allow the high-street shoppers to be able to wear and afford luxury brands, however, I don't really want to be wearing the same designer as every other guy in West End. Then again once anything hits the streets everyone will have it or want it IE Giuseppe Zanotti sneakers.

Opinions?

@Folajimjamz - I think thats it could be cool along as everyone  doesn't start acting like they've known Alexander Wang for years.

@mobolajiking I just hope it doesn't look cheap like every other brand that have collaborated with H&M. I just hope the prints aren't repetitive but I guess we can only wait and see. I actually love Alexander Wang on it's own and h&m on it's own. it's not everyday collaborate

@ZayLDN - Yeah i think its a good idea.. As long as it looks good, i think its alright.

Keesh//@GreenSkittle_ - I feel like H&M are taking the lead in the retail fashion industry with their designer collabs. Im a fan of Wangs so i know the apparel will be classier than other designers that have worked with H&M. Look at Zara, they've just added a top to their collection that looks like a replica of Wang's 'parental advisory' piece without the words on it. Im sure people that go for that Zara top would be quite excited to actually have some Alexandra Wang clothes (if they don't already).. Im quite excited to see what comes out of this collab.

Lydia//@Lydiaalicia_ - I think it's alright.. im guessing its gonna be on the high end of H&M so it'll still be quite expensive so even thought it'll be on the high street it won't be high street prices. H&M has got a quite high quality range in there anyways, the Oxford Street branch has got jackets ranging up to £200 so adding Alexander Wang to that part of the store, only the people that can afford it will go for it. Besides, you have to have a particular style to even want to wear her clothes in the first place. It'll be like an armani exchange just in H&M instead of an Alexander Wang exchange lol.

I guess from the feedback I got people have a positive attitude to the collab.. unfortunately no guys commented so I'm guessing nobody really cares (for now) or they probably don't even know what's going on.
