Rihanna picks up Fashion Icon Award at CFDAs

Rihanna, Rihanna, Rihanna! No wonder Drake couldn't say no..

My oh my! So Monday night the CFDA awards took place. The Council of Fashion Design of America (CFDA) founded in 1962 by publicist Eleanor Lambert, is an awards show high in the ranks of award shows in America.. I would even say that it is second to the Met Ball.

This year's nominees include household designer names like Alexander Wang and Marc Jacobs (who are both up for Womenswear Designer of the Year), as well as Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who are up for Accessories Designer of the Year for their fashion label, The Row.

Nominated for the Fashion Icon award, Rihanna had everyone wondering 'What is she going to wear'.. We know Riri is all about surprises.. she only recently changed her hair colour to pink!

The Diamonds singer, glittered in a custom made gown by designer Adam Selman. The see-through dress had of a total of 216,000 Swarovski crystals. Her dress showed off every inch of her slim figure and left nothing to the imagination as her assets shined bright (like a diamond haha) through her backless dress.

The dress has been in all sorts of fire since last night with people criticising her gown. However many people that I follow on twitter think that Rihanna's outfit was a middle finger statement showing her thoughts on instagrams nudity policy after recently her Instagram account was deleted due to breach of terms and conditions.

I think the outfit done it's job and put Rihanna at the centre if attention where it seems she likes to be. A lot of people are talking about her so she must have done something good.
